For the Love of Coffee

We began our journey from the vast expanse of the Eastern Ghats in India, a cradle of biodiversity and home to many primitive tribal groups. We set up “Tribe Kulture" to honor the distinctive coffee flavors and other native produce by empowering the local tribal communities in the Tribal belts of the world.

The name itself speaks that it is a commitment to safeguard the time-honored techniques of coffee production, which have been passed down through generations among the tribal communities in this region.

Tribe Kulture coffee comes from certified, organic, Fairshare and Rain Forest Alliance. Coffee here is, shade grown, handpicked, fresh water processed and sun-dried coffee beans.  Each bean is hand sorted and freshly roasted by q-graders to ensure that we provide the highest possible quality for each cup of Tribe Kulture Coffee.

Beyond the coffee cup, we also  produce a series of flavors  including black pepper, turmeric varieties, ginger powder, unprocessed raw honey, and aromatic rice. We strive to cultivate coffee beans and other native produces without the use of  chemicals and processed using traditional methods that ensure their flavors remain truly authentic. Having coffee forests with an overstory of shade trees that are native to the land, associated with high levels of biodiversity.

We collaborate closely with small-scale tribal farmers, each tending to 2-3 acres of land, empowering them to enhance their yields.

We believe in bringing value to Tribal Regions of the world and help them to uplift their products in a more sustainable business model.

We embrace the Heirloom wisdom!

Our Philosophy

Coffee: Where Passion Meets Science

Coffee, our cherished Black Gold, embodies our passion and devotion. Crafting the perfect cup involves a scientific artistry. From the pour to the aroma, every step delights our senses, providing a therapeutic escape from the chaos. Our day begins with coffee, our constant companion. It's not just for us, but for anyone who visits us, we start with brewing a perfect cup of tribe Kulture coffee.

Our coffee is a constant companion, bridging connections and paving the way for endless opportunities. It's a beauty we share, cultivated through our journey with Araku's tribal communities. They nurture the right beans, fostering a culture we're eager to share with you.

Our Story

Rajeev is a cinematographer and Me (Pratiksha) is an environmentalist. Coming from the realm of creating narratives and environmental preservation, we wanted to  harmonize the storytelling craft with a commitment to sustainability, akin to blending diverse elements into a cohesive ecosystem. Beyond cinema, Rajeev cultivated a refined palate for coffee. He'd  noticed a significant gap in the availability of quality coffee in Visakhapatnam-Araku Region, leaving people unfamiliar with the delights of well-crafted, non-charred, and less milky coffee.

Rajeev & Pratiksha

Tribe Kulture started from here, in order to part of the community, we must unlearn to learn.  We thought to assist the small and marginalized tribal farmers and promote sustainable coffee production. We began by working with a group of farmers to produce a high-quality coffee that was shade grown without the use of chemicals or pesticides. We helped the farmers to unite as a cooperative, granting them improved leverage in price negotiations.

IN 2019, we decided to move to the Araku valley in the Eastern Ghats of India, filled with  rich culture, biodiversity and the indigenous communities time- honored methods of coffee cultivation intrigued us. While shuffling around with our own quest, it was not a simple decision to leave the utter comfort urban lifestyle. Though initially it was very tough for both of us  to break that bubble and be part of a new  ecosystem, we started our  journey by living in a tent with all animals in and around, in our farm.

Through numerous trial and error sessions in coffee cupping, along with learning from videos, books, and engaging in one-on-one conversations with seasoned Coffee Connoisseurs, we found the inspiration to establish Tribe Kulture Coffee in this very region.

In the process, we came in touch with FPCs (Farmers Producing Companies) who helped us  to successfully get the right beans. Our association with FPCs grew stronger as we  established a trusted unique partnership of “Fair Trade”.We ensures our customers always receive freshly roasted coffee beans, packed to perfection to preserve their aroma and freshness. Our coffee beans are handpicked, curated, and profiles are tailored through cupping sessions for a balanced taste and aroma.

Today Tribe Kulture stands as a triumphant enterprise, offering vital economic prospects to not only to the Eastern Ghats' tribal farmers but tribal farming communities across the globe. We vanguard the venerable coffee production methodologies and assumes a pivotal mantle in the realm of environmental conservation.

Rajeev and me (Pratiksha) continue the rural lifestyle where we unlearn-to- learn and work together with the community with a proper business model. We believe in the value of letting go and embracing the teachings from the ground. Adding a touch of sweetness, I (Pratiksha) bring my love for baking and cooking along with a perfect cup of coffee. Both of us enjoy conversing and sharing our knowledge about coffee and farming.
